About Airbtc
A Bitcoin-only way to stay anywhere.
Airbtc is a property booking platform for Bitcoiners. Hosts earn in Bitcoin. Guests can pay in BTC or in local currencies, while payouts to hosts stay in sats — no tokens, no points, no hidden FX games.
Here's what Airbtc is, how it works, and who it's for.
Overview
What is Airbtc?
Airbtc is a Bitcoin-first marketplace for places to stay. Hosts list their homes, apartments or spare rooms, set prices in sats, and receive payouts in BTC. Guests book directly with them using Bitcoin or, where needed, local payment rails.
It’s built for people who already think in Bitcoin — travellers who’d rather hold and spend sats than juggle cards, FX markups and rental platforms that don't understand self-custody.
No tokens, no points, no “crypto baskets” — just Bitcoin.

Why Bitcoin
Why build a travel platform around Bitcoin?
Most platforms that “support Bitcoin” bolt it on as a marketing feature. The guest pays in “crypto”, the platform instantly sells it, and the host receives a normal bank transfer. The Bitcoin part is cosmetic.
Airbtc is for people who actually want to live on Bitcoin. Pricing in sats and paying hosts in BTC keeps the money neutral, borderless and hard to debase — exactly what you want when you travel and host across countries where cards, FX and banks are usually the first things to break.
Differentiation
What makes Airbtc different?
Bitcoin-only by design
Stays are priced in sats and hosts are paid in Bitcoin. Guests can use BTC or, where available, local rails — but host payouts stay in BTC instead of being quietly converted to fiat.
Built for Bitcoin-native people
Airbtc is for Bitcoiners who already understand self-custody and volatility. No “crypto cashback”, points schemes or token distractions — just clear sats-denominated stays.
Focused on the core experience
The product is built around a clean core: real listings, clear pricing and reliable payouts. New features come after the booking and hosting experience feels rock solid.
Fewer surprises for hosts and guests
Clear BTC pricing, payouts and statuses aim to remove hidden FX games and vague rules, so both sides know what to expect before, during and after a stay.
Team
Who's behind Airbtc?
Airbtc is built by a small, distributed team of Bitcoiners who use BTC for savings, spending and business. The focus isn't on chasing every new coin or trend — it's on one thing: making Bitcoin genuinely useful for everyday travel.
The team works closely with early hosts and guests in Bitcoin hotspots like El Salvador, South Africa and Turkey, then expands to other Bitcoin-heavy cities based on what actually works.
On profiles you'll see a simple line like Based in Istanbul, Turkey next to a host or team member's name, so you always know who you're dealing with and where they're based.
